I run two company websites of my own and show them transparently as such. Gartenprofis Leipzig, my garden care business, runs on WordPress and Elementor with a German host. It has several of the things set up that I recommend to clients: automatic backups of files and database, page cache, login protection against brute-force attempts, locally hosted fonts instead of Google Fonts, an SEO extension with sitemap and structured data, cookie-free analytics (GoatCounter). And regular checks: which plugins are really needed, whether alt texts are right, whether the load time on mobile is still fine.
This website here is hand-built, without WordPress, and in September 2026 it moved from a US host to German web space: DNS, SSL, redirects, security headers, form handler. A hosting migration for you works exactly the same way: first on a test address, then the switchover, then checking every page.
Taking over your website in three steps
- 1. Website and issue: Send the URL and a few sentences about what needs doing or why you want to change providers. No passwords are needed for the first enquiry.
- 2. Agree the review and scope: We agree what needs checking and the cost before I begin. For the technical review you grant the WordPress and hosting access needed. We distinguish initial repairs from ongoing maintenance.
- 3. Back up, implement, document: We establish the backup and recovery options before changes. I carry out the agreed work, check the affected pages and forms, and document the changes. You retain your accounts and can revoke my access.
I don't work with paid security bundles that promise everything, but with the built-in tools of WordPress, the host and a few proven plugins. Fewer plugins means fewer updates, fewer conflicts, less attack surface.

Frequently asked questions about WordPress support
My contact form doesn't arrive. What's usually the reason?
Possible causes include form settings, a mail delivery error, spam filters or the domain's sender configuration. I check the delivery path and, where needed, SMTP, SPF and DKIM. We then use a test enquiry to check whether the message reaches the intended mailbox.
After an update the site is white or says 'There has been a critical error'. What now?
Don't keep clicking and don't update anything else. Usually a plugin or the theme is incompatible with the new WordPress or PHP version. I can see which one in the host's error log, deactivate it via file access and restore the site, from the backup if necessary. Then we clarify whether the plugin needs replacing.
My site has been hacked. Can you help?
We first discuss the site's condition, available backups and the work needed. Depending on what we find, this may involve containing the incident, cleaning or restoring the site and addressing the identified vulnerability. We agree beforehand whether I can take on the case and what work is involved. Cleanup is not part of monthly basic maintenance.

No. You can commission a one-off job for a specific problem. If you then want regular care, there is basic maintenance at €49 per month or a larger block of hours. Both ongoing options can be cancelled monthly.
Can you take over a WordPress website from another provider?
Yes, I also take over websites built by others. We first establish what access is available and review the hosting, plugins and technical condition. Then we agree the initial work and support you need. If access is missing, we check the recovery options with the relevant provider.
What about Shopify, Wix or Jimdo?
Shopify I look after, there's a separate page for it. Site builders like Wix or Jimdo are maintained by the provider itself, there it's more about content, domain and email, which I'll help with if needed.
Do you also come on site?
